What Inspires You?
Weeks Of July 7, 2008 - July 20, 2008
From The Desk Of Laura M. Turner:
Recently, I had someone ask me a telling question.
What was the
inspiration for the New Body News eZine? I replied that the eZine was, in
fact, quite an accident. It began in 2003 and consisted of one article per
issue sent to a few health interested people. Since then, and over five years later, it's
taken on a life of its own.
With Summer upon us, all this
makes me wonder: is it inspiration or fate that makes something grow and evolve?
The conclusion I've come to? It is both of these. For me, any solid goal
(be it publishing, weight loss, or fitness) first begins with a vision.
This coupled with a solid plan, a good dose of hard work and a
never ending source of inspiration and community. And I'm not alone in my
thinking. When you read deeper into this issue of New Body News, you will
find, these common threads exist in many of the articles we've
published. In this issue in particular, several authors share their ideas of what it means to create and keep
goals and resolutions. The voices and the writing styles vary, yet the common denominators
remain the same. Create a vision, plan to be flexible, build a strong
community, and get it in writing.
Further, when I think specifically about what
it means to have a constant source of inspiration, I'm in good company, as well.
When I've run out of
ideas, in the past, I've called upon my online communities and the successful minded people
within them for support. In the same way, the variety of writers and voices in this online
magazine continue to bring to the table fresh ideas - all to a constant subject matter.
I've always believed in the organic power of person-to-person, the power of One.
Many of the enlightened authors that we've published in this eZine echo this
idea, as well.
Therefore, whether you are looking to begin a new
fitness program, lose weight or accomplish any goal this Summer, remember - all changes and new beginnings evolve from
your mind. When these ideas are shared with another, they begin to take
flight. Soon, I think you'll find, they too will grow and take on a life of their own. As
I've mentioned, as a
journalist, I feel as if writing and life are both like this. In this
light, I hope you will find your goals begin with a thought inspired by
something you've found in New Body News, as it is always our goal to share our
inspiration with you.
I cannot say it enough: thank you for being a part
of this wellness community.
We hope you find that it continues to benefit you in the way it was intended - to
keep you healthy by way of education. It is our mission to bring you fresh new
ideas to think about, as well as fresh ways to help keep you health-minded and
inspired for 2008.
With a variety of minds and voices, with you - our treasured reader's - input, the idea I had
for this magazine can continue to grow...
Please enjoy this issue of New Body News.
May 2008 bless all of you.
Laugh and Be Well,
Laura
