Legacy: The Power Within - A Review
By Laura M. Turner

"The
power of thought can, change your attitude, change your behavior, change your
life."
~ Tony DeLiso Legacy: The Power Within
There is a saying in nutritional
circles most people have heard. It's a simple, almost cliché quote
that states "you are what you eat." If that's the case, and you asked
Tony DeLiso author of Legacy: The Power Within what he thought about it,
he'd probably tell you, sure it's true. Then he'd probably say, I'd
only change one word to make it the quote a greater one. His would
read, "You are
what you think."
I would
also venture this guess: he'd say his book is living proof.
In his 129
pages, DeLiso challenges readers to remember just this: we are what we think.
A provocative idea that calls us all to take responsibility for our own
happiness. Next, he takes readers a step further asking us to police our thoughts,
pulling the weeds of negativity. In his reasoning, we may only
grow our garden of positive outcomes this way, removing the mental obstacles
as we go. To do this we must ask ourselves the appropriate "what if" questions.
Questions like: What if instead of feeling as if life were a thing that "happens to
us," we could be at root cause of our life? What if outcomes of
events - most importantly our own joy in life - are our responsibility?
Further what if we could move from the passenger seat of life to be
poised behind the wheel?
And the
answer to all
these what if's? To them, DeLiso says "Yes." And in answer to
"so how do you know?" He'd most likely say: it's our promise from the divine.
Yet, again, I'm merely speculating.
What he
does do with complete certainty, however, is show you how to invoke the
"promise" from his experience. He does this in his easy to understand
"ask and you shall receive" method of manifesting, beginning with your
thoughts. Then he'll turn you loose with his methodology - and the
rest, well, that's up to you and me.
Sounds
simple enough, right? Not exactly. Here's some questions you'll need
to ask yourself to be at the ready:
Have you
ever really stopped and thought about what you were thinking? If you
did just for a few moments, as DeLiso suggests, can you hear your own inner
dialogue? What is your voice saying to you? Have you focused on what
you have and are grateful for - instead of what is missing in your life?
I can tell
you honestly, dear reader, these were not easy exercises for me. Yet,
after doing so, here's some of what I came up with:
Of my voice, it seems unaffected by those things
that I thought most important: the large matters. Those like world
events; the presidential election. Once becoming aware, I realized, it is the list making that
is at the fore. And all the doing deprives me from gratitude (save
driving me to near madness). Therefore, I came away from this exercise
realizing, it's the step by step process that is most
troubling to me and in deep need of uprooting.
Once I
made this discovery though, I began looking for ways I could get control of
these thoughts. Further, I now understand, my work is to wield my mind
into one that is ready to manifest and appreciate joy, love,
abundance. And, like any good mechanic, DeLiso has given me his tools.
Once
you've prepared your mind to receive, DeLiso will show
you how to:
-
Create affirmations that will help you on your way to manifesting a more
positive, thoughtful life
-
Create meditations to achieve desired outcomes
-
Create goals and solve problems as you move along
- Use your own thoughts to recreate your life into
the one you
imagine
-
Accept that good and prosperity can come to you and how to open your
heart to receive
- and
more...
But it all
begins with us - and our thoughts. DeLiso's book then,
is an internal workbook, one that shows all the how and why of who we really
are. The quest, should you brave its climb, will show you how to recognize
your "self" - in your happy, joyous state. It will then help you build the road to
get and keep you there. If you are looking for
more joy, peace, love, abundance and a solid sense of self, Legacy: The
Power Within WILL show you the
way... but you must be willing to do the work.
